Home BAC Guide

Your BAC, translated into plain language.

The number on the kit only helps if you know what it means. Here is what each range actually does to you.

The zones

0.00

Zero

The only number that pairs with a driver's seat. Everything below is about awareness, not permission.

0.02–0.04

Relaxed — and already measurable

Mild mood lift, slight warmth. Divided attention and tracking are already degraded — this is where under-21 and commercial limits sit for a reason.

0.05–0.07

Impaired, legal-ish, dangerous

Judgment, fine motor control and reaction time are all measurably worse. Utah already calls this over the line; crash risk is climbing fast.

0.08–0.10

Over the limit — everywhere

Per-se OWI/DUI territory in every state. Concentration, speed control and lane tracking are significantly impaired even if you feel fine.

0.15+

High BAC — enhanced penalties

Roughly double the standard limit. Many states charge this as an aggravated offense with stiffer mandatory penalties. Blackout and injury risk rise sharply.

How fast it leaves

Average elimination is about 0.015% BAC per hour — meaning a 0.09% reading needs roughly six hours to reach zero. Coffee, cold showers, food and walking it off change how awake you feel, not your BAC. Only time works, which is exactly what the Pro kit's elimination timer counts down.

Why you cannot out-math it

Drink-counting formulas fail because absorption depends on food, body composition, medications, fatigue and carbonation. That is the whole case for testing instead of guessing — and for treating every reading above zero as a reason to hand off the keys.
